Hugo Meraz, CFP®, CRPS®
Director of Financial Planning
Hugo serves his clients as a wealth manager and financial planner. He focuses on various areas including career transition planning, retirement planning, social security optimization, investing, Roth IRA conversions, tax-advantaged strategies, wealth transfer, alternative assets, and risk management. He is a firm believer that protecting his clients from market downturns is equally, if not more important, than earning high returns in the good years. His mission is to serve as a personal CFO for his client's families while bringing institutional or endowment style investing to each and every one of them. Hugo is a graduate of Arizona State University, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional, earned the Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist designation from the College for Financial Planning, and is also a National Social Security Advisor Certificate holder.
With over 15 years of experience in the industry, he understands the importance of putting the needs and interests of his clients above all else. In addition to serving clients at Ultra Financial Partners, Hugo is a Board Member of the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System Local Board for the City of Scottsdale. This board oversees the disability and retirement plan system for the city’s police and fire department first responders. Community involvement and new experiences are important to Hugo and he has also served causes such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of the East Valley Guardians for Kids program, Junior Achievement’s Stock Market Challenge Board, and the Recycle your Bike program to name a few.
Hugo is originally from Chicago and resides in Scottsdale with his wife, Erinn, and their baby girl, Noemi. They frequently try to get back to his hometown to visit family and friends. Some of his other hobbies include cycling, camping, hiking, attending concerts and football games and brewing beer.
